Open the Instagram app and navigate to your profile. Then tap on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner and select Settings. Scroll down and select Security, then tаp on Two-Factor Authentication

You’ll be prompted to verify your identity by entering your password. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to turn on two-step verification. 

You can receive your verification code via SMS or a third-party authenticator app. After enabling the feature, you’ll be reminded to enter a verification code each time you log in to your Instagram account.

You’ll need a verified phone number or email address associated with your account. If this is your first time doing it, Instagram will guide you through verifying your contact information. 

How to Use Two-Step Verification

Go to your profile settings, then security, two-factor authentication, and choose “Recovery email” or “Recovery phone number” to add an alternative contact.

It will allow you to reset your account if you can’t access your verification code.

If at any point you want to disable two-step verification, you can go to your profile settings, security, and then two-factor authentication to turn it off.
